Why I Fight: Laura Mucci
Why I Fight: Laura | What’s your name, where are you from, and what do you do?
My name is Laura Mucci and I’m from Everett, MA. I bounce all around the city teaching fitness full-time and love it. In addition to my classes at EverybodyFights, I teach cycling, yoga and boot camp style classes. Before fitness, I was a makeup artist for 13 years and I still do events and photoshoots on the side.
What makes you a fighter?
My spirit and will. I have had my share of punches in life, like many. My real fight began after having my son and losing him a few days later. It was a tough blow to come back from and it changed me forever, but I vowed from that day forward to get up and give my all every day for the both of us.
What do you fight for?
Myself and everyone around me, including you. You’re only as strong as those you choose to surround yourself with, so fight to be the best version of yourself and then share your fight – love, compassion, skill, lessons learned and motivation with others.
What inspires you to take the hits and keep on fighting?
“You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life, but it ain’t about how hard you hit, it’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward, how much you can take and keep moving forward.” – Sylvester Stallone.
Every time you get hit or knocked down you have the opportunity to get back up, to grow, to be better and stronger, so why not do it!
What is your Fight Fuel?
Almost always a banana and almond butter.
What is your Fight Song?
Just one? Eminem’s “Lose Yourself”… cliché, I know, but it seriously gets me going.
What’s your favorite EverybodyFights class?
TRAINx360 is my fave because it has a bit of everything!
Who is your favorite EverybodyFights Trainer, and why?
Well, let me start by saying I’ve not taken everyone and my belief is that you have different instructors for different days to match your intensity/mood that day. That said I love Chris DaVeiga’s TRAINxLIVE, Shane Jordan’s BAGSxBODY class, and Alex Leviner’s humor and genuine want to help you be your best in all of his classes.
How do you Fight It Forward?
Good vibes. Everyone is fighting a battle most of us know nothing about. It’s incredible how a smile, hug, wave, or a kind word can change someone’s day. I am mindful of that in all interactions. Basically, if you need a hug or a high-five, I’m your girl!
