EverybodyFights x Pan-Mass Challenge
David Bergeron, Director of Operations for EverybodyFights, rode in his 10thPan-Mass Challenge (PMC). In total, he has raised over $77,000 for this amazing cause.
“I am fighting for my friends who have lost fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, and friends closer than blood,” says David Bergeron (Director of Operations for EverybodyFights). “I ride for those who lost the fight but never stopped fighting. I ride for Scott Salman, Mr. Coffin, Bertil’s family members, and everyone who is in the fight.”
“The weekend is all at once mind-blowing, exhausting, thrilling, and an emotional roller coaster,” says David.
Founded in 1980, the annual PMC brings together over 6,000 riders from across the world to bike across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and raise funds for life-saving cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. This is one of the most successful fundraising campaigns in the nation. Over this two-day event, cyclists ride 192 miles across Massachusetts, challenging themselves physically, mentally, and emotionally.
“My first ride was in 2008, and during that ride I came across a girl around the age of 8, holding a sign that said, “I am here because of you, thank you.” Each year I get on my bike to ride, and to fight for those who can’t fight for themselves, in hopes that they too can say this same thing one day.”
