What’s your name, where are you from, and what do you do?
My name is Rachel Gianatasio. I’m from Marblehead MA but I currently live in Roslindale. I am a photographer and photo editor!
What makes you a fighter?
I want to challenge myself to be the best that I can be. Boxing helps me do that in and out of the ring.
What do you fight for?
At the beginning, I fought because it challenges me and makes me feel my strongest both physically and mentally. Beyond that now, I fight for those people -past, present and future- who did not get to choose to fight.
What inspires you to take the hits and keep on fighting?
I’m inspired by the people who have been dealt hardships but who fight hard to overcome or make the best out of it. It reminds me that just because you get beaten up or knocked down that you still have a chance to fight.
If you could fight side-by-side with one person, past or present, who would it be?
I think I’d have to say Tyson Fury. If I could deflect punches like him I’d be golden. Man’s got SKILLZ.
What is your Fight Fuel?
Eggs, turkey bacon and some avocado. If I don’t have time for that in the morning, I love a banana with some almond/peanut butter!
What is your Fight Song?
Right now I’ve been feeling Immigrant Song by Led Zeppelin.
What’s your favorite EverybodyFights class?
Depends on the day but I always love BAGSxBODY and ROADxFIGHT.
Who is your favorite EverybodyFights Trainer, and why?
I can’t imagine picking just one. So many people have influenced me in various ways. Right now though I think I’d have to say Kevin Cobbs because I’ve never seen anyone more passionate about training someone to fight. He’s so into it and it helps me be into it.
How do you Fight It Forward?
Right now I’m participating in Belles of the Brawl and training for 4 months for a fight and raising money for cancer research and care throughout the process. I feel so lucky to be one of the ladies chosen for this round and to do my part with Haymakers for Hope and #KOcancer!
