FITT: GET READY TO SWEAT: THREE DIFFERENT BOXING STUDIOS ARE SETTING UP SHOP IN PHILLY
The City of Brotherly Love’s getting punch drunk, and it’s not just by the infamous statue at the Art Museum steps. All over the country boxing-based workouts are on fire. Heck, the last time boxing was having a moment like this, Tinder was found primarily in fireplaces and Amazon was known for its tropical climates (not its Whole Foods discounts). Yup, even Philly has caught boxing fever and, with three boxing-studios slated to open in the next six months, it’s about to become an epidemic.
A PALACE FOR PUNCHING
EverybodyFights, with locations spanning from New York to Lexington, KY, was founded by George Foreman III (son of two-time heavyweight champion George Foreman Sr.) Basically, he’s got boxing in his blood, and this enormous, ultra-luxe gym is his pride and joy.
The Philly location is coming to 1900 Market St. in Rittenhouse January 2019 and will feature two full-sized boxing rings, multiple training rooms (focusing on bags, circuit-training, and endurance), as well as featuring space for cardio and free weights. Plus, with amenities like a steam room, towel service, blow-dry bars, a pro shop, juice and coffee bar, and a lounge area, you might never want to leave…
