EverybodyFights(EBF), a boxing fitness brand created by George Foreman III, and his business partner, Anthony Rich, has secured a $1-million minority growth-equity investment from Breakaway Ventures, a Boston-based venture capital and branding firm.
“In Breakaway, we saw a partner whose expertise and relationships could help take our brand to the next level,” says Foreman III. With this investment, EBF will be able to accelerate the expansion of its high-end boxing facilities, and further develop its multichannel, multimedia fitness brand.
The company plans to develop both owned-and-operated and franchised sites.
EBF’s unique BOXFIIT program is an authentic training method that incorporates the successful professional techniques employed both by Foreman III and his father, George Foreman Sr., a two-time world heavyweight champion. This “Fight Intensity Interval Training” (FIIT) provides an exceptionally effective fitness workout.
The company also has developed an online training certification program, available by subscription, to help fitness professionals master the BOXFIIT techniques, movements, and safety procedures.
“EverybodyFights is a transformational fitness and media business at the forefront of the boxing fitness revolution,” observes John Burns, the president of Breakaway Ventures. “We’re thrilled to partner with George and Anthony to build their brand into the next functional-fitness powerhouse.”
EBF currently operates a flagship facility in Boston, and, in February, opened its first BOXFIIT studio at GymIt, a Healthyworks Group facility, in Watertown, Massachusetts. New locations are scheduled to open in Boston and Manhattan later this year, to be followed by three or four more in Boston and New York over the next two or three years, and additional expansion in the East Coast.
